All-in rate
A single rate that already contains every cost the provider will charge.
Definition
A price per hour, day or month that includes everything the provider bills: the person's pay, employer contributions, equipment, recruitment, management, and overhead. The opposite is a base rate with separate line items added later for tooling, supervision, travel or recruitment fees.
Why it matters
Compare quotes only once both are all-in, or you will pick the cheaper number and receive the larger invoice. Ask directly what is not in the rate. The usual escapees are equipment, project management and any overtime multiplier, and each of them can move a quote by a tenth.
