Nearshoring
Outsourcing to a country close enough to share your working day.
Definition
Moving work to a country in or near your own time zone rather than to the cheapest available location. The saving is smaller than far-shore alternatives and the working relationship is closer, because questions get answered the same day rather than the next one.
Why it matters
The honest framing is a trade, not a win: you pay more than you would in a far-shore market and you get back a shared working day. Whether that is worth it depends almost entirely on how iterative your work is. Highly specified, batch-style work often does fine far-shore.
