Subcontracting
Your provider passing part of the work to another company.
Definition
The practice of a supplier engaging a third party to perform some of the contracted work, either for specialist skills or for capacity. It is normal and often invisible unless the contract requires disclosure.
Why it matters
Undisclosed subcontracting undoes the vetting you paid for and can break your data protection chain at the same time. Require prior written notice of subcontractors in the master agreement. If a provider resists, that usually indicates the model is broker-shaped rather than employer-shaped.
