Attrition
The rate at which people leave, and take their context with them.
Definition
The proportion of staff who depart over a period, whether they resign or are replaced by the provider. In outsourcing it is measured at two levels: the provider's overall attrition and the churn on your specific account, which can be very different numbers.
Why it matters
Ask for account-level attrition, because a provider with a healthy overall figure can still rotate your team every six months. Each replacement restarts the onboarding ramp at your cost, so a cheap rate with high churn frequently loses to a dearer one with stable people.
