Hiring
Talent network
The pre-identified group of candidates a provider can draw on.
Definition
A maintained set of candidates already known to a recruiter or provider, with their skills, availability and previous assessments on record. It is what makes a shortlist possible in days rather than weeks, and it decays quickly if it is not kept current.
Why it matters
Ask how recently the network was contacted and how many were assessed rather than just collected. A large network of stale profiles produces a fast shortlist of people who are no longer available or no longer interested, which costs you a week and looks like speed on the provider's side.
